First Steps

  • Wondering what makes Genesis' heart beat?
  • Ready to move beyond Sunday morning?
  • Want to get more involved in the mission & vision of Genesis Church?
  • Got questions?

Then, the next First Steps Class is where you need to be!

The First Step Class is held regularly throughout the year as a 3-hour class on a Sunday afternoon. You will discover the history, mission, and values of Genesis Church, what the Christian & Missionary Alliance is all about, and why we do things the way we do. You'll discover why and how to serve, and learn what it means to be a full-participating member of Genesis Church.

At the end of the First Steps Class, you'll have the opportunity to take the next step in becoming a full-participating member of Genesis Church. Becoming a member means that you officially align with the mission, vision, doctrine, and philosophy of Genesis Church. It means that you will commit to protect the unity of Genesis, share the responsibilities for a healthy Genesis, serve as part of ministry of Genesis, and support the life of Genesis Church while growing as DNA filled disciple.

Even if you don't desire to become a full-participating member, there is still a place for you as part of Genesis Church. The First Steps Class will help you understand how to be an active part of Genesis Church and not just a passive observer. Being a healthy DNA filled disciple is more than a Sunday morning thing.

If you would like to attend the next First Steps Class, contact the church office, or let us know via your Connection Card on a Sunday morning.

Connections Ministry

If you have a heart for people and making them feel welcome, then consider one of these opportunities to serve:

  • Greeters are outgoing, friendly people who can provide direction and encouragement to everyone, especially our guests, who are joining us for a weekend worship service or other special events. They are the first friendly face someone will encounter as they come onto the campus.
  • Ushers help people get settled as they enter the Worship Center by directing towards open seats, assisting those with special needs, navigating traffic patterns, and providing crowd control.
  • The Common Grounds Cafe team works at serving up great cups of coffee and other beverages to everyone who comes on Sunday mornings, and at other special events. Training is provided, and you serve as often or as little as you would like.
  • We're excited every time someone joins us for the first time, whether they just dropped in or were invited by a friend. Those serving as part of the Follow-Up team will work together to make sure each person receives a follow up contact to say thank you and to answer any questions through a variety of means.
  • If you would like to serve as part of one of these teams, please contact Our Office.

Facility & Grounds Team

  • Creative Arts: Or are you skilled in video, graphics, painting, etc?
